Pier Image Group is a design and web site construction management company and has been building and maintaining web sites since 1995 when we co-built one of the first industry-specific contact portals. It was designed specifically for the film and videotape production industry in New England.

From that point on, we have always been in the forefront of new developments on the web and since the consumer acceptance of broadband connectivity on the Internet, we have been able to develop new web tools that allow our clients to update their web site content at their own convenience and location.

Over the years, we have developed an expertise in handling multi-media files (sound and video) over the web. We were one of the first to steam music over the web in 1996 with our college radio web site, The College 500. The following year we created, installed and maintained a music kiosk program inside the Sam Goody flagship music store in New York. In 1999, we were contracted to create and build a web presence for singer Christina Aguilera, as well as create and manage her web based merchandising effort. This relationship made Christina Aguilera the first major pop star to stream video from her web site and solidly placed Pier Image Group on a track towards mastery of this new area.

Luis & Clark, makers of carbon fiber stringed instruments contracted with us in 2001 to create a web presence and to direct an international print campaign in string industry magazines. They also embraced the use of audio and video on their web site and footage of the Bacon Brothers in concert with a Luis & Clark Carbon Fiber Cello is still streaming from their present web site.

In seeing the emergence of multi-media and data management through the web, we began a long term strategic relationship with Radial Studios, a Columbus, Ohio developer group led by its CEO George Faerber. Our first project together was a web site for talent casting agents to us in streaming the audition tapes of actors over the Internet. Since then some of our major projects have been:

In 2003, The Scioto Management Group sought a more refined approach to their new property, Marble Cliff Commons. With a goal in mind of providing luxury services, the owners understood the need to deliver an exceptional support website to ensure residents had every opportunity to communicate with the owners.

Information is structured and managed throughout the website. Apartment features, amenities, prices, addresses and vacancy information is paired with a resident profile, reservation tools, online applications, online ordering, and managed messaging. This provides a seamless interface that gives property managers an 'at a glance' overview of what their online priorities are which facilities their luxury services approach.
In 2004, the Three Rivers Library System required a centralized website management control panel to oversee the web presence of nine library portals.

Through the combination of open source and proprietary software solutions, we provided the library group with the power to update news, articles, and website content across multiple and uniquely branded website portals from a single interface.

In 2005 Sharper Impressions Painting required an overhaul to their aging intranet out of a desire to achieve greater integration between Microsoft Exchange, their Small Business server, and their intranet.

From the moment a customer calls in to request a quote, the SIP Intranet guides every employee through a structured cycle of contacts, follow-ups, quotes, project management, and finally quality assurance. Remote laptops synchronize varied assets (quotes, photos, and documents) using the client ID with the office server, which then posts those files to the web for immediate review and retrieval.

Increased employee accountability, centralized document management, and greater operational efficiency all contributed to a more efficient client management cycle.

About the Logo: Our logo is taken from a health encyclopedia from 1913 -- it's a chart showing the human brain seen from a phrenology perspective -- Phrenology was a pseudo-science that sought to explain and connect certain brain function with areas on the scalp. After 30 years in the computer business we are always skeptical of the final answer about anything and this logo keeps us reminded that if we think we have the answer, it might just be phrenology.
